Wedding limo service in Atlanta, step by step
Tell us the timeline and the addresses, and we return a written plan with each vehicle, its pickup times and the total.
Wedding transportation in Atlanta works best when one company plans every vehicle on the same timeline.
- Getting ready: pick up the bride or groom and the wedding party from the home, hotel or salon
- Ceremony: arrive with time to spare, with the chauffeur waiting through the ceremony
- Photos: stops at photo locations between the ceremony and the reception
- Reception: drop-off at the venue
- Send-off: the grand exit car for the couple at the end of the night
Vehicles for the couple, the party and the family
| Who | Usual vehicle |
|---|---|
| The couple | Stretch limousine or luxury sedan |
| Wedding party | Stretch SUV limousine or Sprinter |
| Parents and grandparents | Executive SUV |
| Guests between hotel and venue | Mini bus shuttle |
Transportation for wedding guests
Guest shuttles keep everyone on time and remove the question of who drives home after the reception. A mini bus or Sprinter runs loops between the hotel block and the venue before the ceremony and after the reception, on a schedule printed on your invitations or wedding website. Out-of-town guests can also be met at Hartsfield-Jackson; see group airport transportation.
Good transportation services for a wedding cover everyone, not only the couple: the wedding party, the parents and grandparents, and every guest who needs a ride back to the hotel.
Atlanta wedding venues and beyond
We drive to wedding venues across Atlanta and the surrounding area, from Buckhead hotels and Midtown event spaces to estates in the northern suburbs, Marietta, Roswell and Peachtree City. Mountain and vineyard venues in North Georgia are quoted on request.
Booking tips for your wedding limo
- Book early for spring and fall Saturdays; stretch vehicles are reserved first
- Count everyone who will ride, including photographers who travel with the party
- Add 15–30 minutes of buffer around photos
- Note décor or red-carpet requests on the quote
A sample wedding day transportation timeline
Every wedding is different, but most Atlanta wedding days follow a pattern like this one. The times are an example; your plan is built from your own timeline.
| Time | What happens | Vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| 1:30 p.m. | Groom and groomsmen picked up at the hotel | Sprinter limo |
| 2:00 p.m. | Bride and bridesmaids picked up at the getting-ready location | Stretch limousine |
| 2:15 p.m. | Parents and grandparents picked up | Executive SUV |
| 3:00 p.m. | Ceremony; guest shuttle loops from the hotel block | Mini bus |
| 4:00 p.m. | Couple and wedding party to photo locations | Stretch limousine |
| 5:30 p.m. | Arrival at the reception | All vehicles |
| 10:30 p.m. | Grand exit for the couple; guest shuttle back to the hotel | Luxury sedan or limousine, mini bus |
How many hours to book for a wedding limo
Wedding limo service is usually booked by the hour with a minimum. The question is whether the vehicle should stay through the whole day or come back for the end of the night.
If the ceremony and reception are at the same venue, many couples book the limousine for the arrival, the photos and the reception drop, then book a separate send-off car for the end of the night. If there is a long gap between a church ceremony and a later reception, two shorter bookings can cost less than one long one. We quote both ways when it makes a difference.
- Count from the first pickup to the reception drop-off
- Add buffer for photos, which almost always run long
- Decide whether the grand exit is the same vehicle or a separate booking
- Remember the guest shuttle runs on its own schedule
Planning wedding guest shuttles
The shuttle schedule depends on three numbers: the number of guests who need a ride, the seats in the vehicle and the drive time between the hotel and the venue. One loop is the drive there, the unloading, the drive back and the loading.
For example, if the venue is 15 minutes from the hotel, one loop takes roughly 40 minutes. A Sprinter with 14 seats can move about 28 guests in two loops before a ceremony; a mini bus can often do it in one. After the reception, running the last loop at the end of the night, with an earlier loop for families with children, keeps everyone happy.
Practical notes for Atlanta wedding venues
- Hotel weddings in Buckhead and Midtown: the vehicles use the hotel entrance, so tell us whether the hotel has a covered drive
- Historic venues around the Marietta Square and Canton Street in Roswell: street parking is tight, so the chauffeur plans a drop-off point with the venue
- Estates and barns outside the city: long or gravel driveways may not suit a stretch vehicle; we check access before the day
- Vineyard and resort venues in North Georgia: plan the drive time and the guest shuttle early
- Churches with a set ceremony length: the chauffeur waits nearby and is at the door when the doors open
Rehearsal dinner, welcome party and the morning after
Wedding transportation is rarely one day. A Sprinter for the rehearsal dinner, a shuttle to the welcome party, a brunch the next morning and the couple’s ride to Hartsfield-Jackson for the honeymoon can all go on the same plan. See car service to Atlanta airport for honeymoon departures.
Multi-day and cultural weddings
South Asian weddings with mehndi, sangeet and reception events, Jewish weddings with a ceremony and a reception at different venues, and church weddings followed by an evening celebration all need transportation over more than one event. We plan each day separately, with the right vehicles for the families, the wedding party and the guests, and one coordinator for the whole weekend.
Questions to ask before you book a wedding limo
- Is the exact vehicle confirmed on the quote, with its seat count?
- How many hours are included, and what does extra time cost?
- Are gratuity and fees listed separately?
- Will the chauffeur have the full timeline and the venue contacts?
- What is the plan if the ceremony or photos run late?
- Can décor or a red carpet be added?
What we need for a wedding quote
- Wedding date and the ceremony and reception venues
- Getting-ready addresses and photo locations
- Who rides in each vehicle and how many guests
- The time of the grand exit
